Benni was on Radio 2 this morning.
How fucking annoying is Zoe Ball; she’s got to be catching up with Vanessa Feltz.

These two blokes are great composers, great melodys and harmonys.I think even though they are not everyone's cuppa that a real music lover will admit how good they are. Deep down you all know its true. Most people who say they do not like ABBA do it because they are either tone deaf or are trying to maintain an image of being cool from the 70s 80s and 90s.

Some good tunes, great pop songwriters; not my cup of tea but every now and again you might catch me dancing to one of their songs in a particular establishment if I’m a bit pissed.

I'm certain that it's possible for male and female heterosexuals, homosexuals, bestialists, fuckers of cars and buildings, and celibates to like ABBA.

Not possible to combine any of those and decent musical taste and like ABBA, though.

I love it when Northern gets wound up
One day he will emerge from his tennis-curious CLOSET & embrace his Abba loving , horse bothering true self.

Not a pretty sight but the real Northern.
Expect it will see him run off with his daughters boyfriend to bicker over who buys the Stella.

Re: Abba
Not my cup of tea, but really, in no way shit. A couple of gorgeous birds and ridiculously-dressed blokes singing inoffensive songs (many of them very good indeed).

As for boy bands, I don't get that either. The Temptations and the Four Tops, both clearly boy bands, both of whom I adore, are cool. But Take That, Boyzone, Westlife (none of whom I like), etc are shit - even though they are no more manufactured than their Motown predecessors were. Barlow has even written some half-decent songs.

Same with the Spice Girls - no Supremes but undeniably good at what they did.

I don't understand why anyone over thirty can't have a bit of perspective. It's not a case of everything I don't like is shit.

Re: Abba
Sold, my old man was a Mod in the original 60's era when it was a thing, he thought The Jam were utter shit with the (as he put it) over the top cockney singing and those who followed them as 80's Mods were scruffy cunts and the majority of original Mods wore a hand made suit not a poxy Parker that was left to youthy scooter bods he also said Quadrophenia was a load of bollocks and the press stirred up all the crap that went on at Brighton etc (yes he was there). He also went all out on Skinheads in the 80's with the same sort of distain saying they were scruffy racist cunts and the originals of the late 60's were again smart and heavily into their black music so didn't get the yobby 80's version.

He was totally right tbh......althoug

Re: Abba
Interesting that Benny (or was it Bjorn) said that they are expecting this new music to be aimed at middle aged men from Rochford who are too fat for their gay little Mod suits and are looking for something to twerk to in elasticated trousers.

Very niche

Sold is so macho it's untrue, apart from when the daughter's squeeze steals his Stella from the fridge...
